How the estimates work

We compare all 11 residential plans across the three big Arizona utilities using the rates each utility has published (effective Jul 2026 — every figure links to its tariff source below).

  1. Your usage becomes a load shape. Your monthly kWh is split across on-peak, off-peak, and overnight super-off-peak buckets using the "when are you home?" profile you pick. A home that's empty 9–5 puts less of its usage in the afternoon peak window than one running the AC all day.
  2. Each plan prices that load shape. Flat plans multiply usage by one rate. Time-of-use plans price each bucket separately. Demand plans add a charge based on your estimated peak draw (we scale your average kW up by a profile-specific peak factor).
  3. Seasons are blended. Annual cost = 6 summer months + 6 winter months at each plan's seasonal rates, plus monthly service charges. Plans are ranked by that blended annual cost.

The "flexibility" toggle moves 6 percentage points of your load out of the peak window — roughly what shifting laundry, dishwasher, and pool-pump runs off-peak achieves.

What this is not

These are estimates from modeled load shapes, not a bill guarantee. Your actual bill depends on weather, home size, and exactly when you use power. Confirm with your utility's own comparison tools: APS plans · SRP plans · TEP plans.
